What we collect
Depending on how you interact with Logan and Greys, we may collect:
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and delivery address
- Payment information: billing address and transaction records (card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by us)
- Account information: login credentials and order history, if you create an account
- Browsing and device data: pages visited, time spent on site, IP address, browser type and referring URLs
- Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to receive promotional emails or other communications
Purposes
We use your personal data to:
- Process and fulfil your orders, including sending confirmation and dispatch notifications
- Handle returns, refunds and customer service enquiries
- Detect and prevent fraud or other unlawful activity
- Send you marketing communications where you have agreed to receive them
- Improve the store through analytics on how visitors use it
- Manage consent preferences for cookies and tracking
Why we are allowed to
Each purpose rests on a specific legal basis under the UK GDPR:
- Order fulfilment and customer service: performance of a contract with you
- Fraud prevention and legal compliance: our legitimate interests, and compliance with legal obligations where applicable
- Marketing communications: your consent, given when you opt in
- Site analytics and improvement: our legitimate interests in operating and developing the store, balanced against your right to privacy
- Consent management: compliance with our legal obligations under data protection law
Service providers
We share your data only with the processors we use to operate the store. Each is engaged under a data processing agreement and may only use your data for the purpose we specify.
- Shopify: store platform and order management
- PayPal: payment processing
- Google: Google Analytics (site usage statistics), Google Ads (advertising measurement) and the Google & YouTube channel, which sends our product listings to Google Merchant Center
- Shopify Email and Klaviyo: order notifications and, only if you subscribe, marketing emails; Klaviyo also records on-site activity such as items added to the cart, but only after you accept marketing cookies
- Google Tag Manager and WeTracked: load our advertising and conversion measurement tags, only after you accept marketing cookies
- Microsoft Clarity: anonymised session recordings and heatmaps that show us how the site is used, loaded only after you accept analytics cookies
- Pandectes: the cookie consent banner that records your choices
- CommsLayer: communications infrastructure
- Order tracking (YourTracking and our own order-tracking lookup service): provide the parcel-tracking features on our Track Your Order page and process the order number or email address you enter there
International transfers
Some of our processors operate outside the United Kingdom, which means your data may be transferred to countries that do not have the same data protection laws. Where that happens, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place. For transfers to processors established in the EEA or in countries with a UK adequacy decision, the transfer is lawful on that basis. For other transfers, we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses supplemented by the UK Addendum to those clauses, as approved by the Information Commissioner's Office.
Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account or outstanding orders require it, and for as long as tax, accounting and other legal obligations apply. Once neither purpose continues to apply, your data is deleted or anonymised.
Do you have to give us this
Certain information, such as your name, delivery address and payment details, is necessary to enter into a contract with you and fulfil your order. Without it, we cannot process your purchase. Other information, such as marketing preferences, is entirely optional. Where data is required by law rather than by contract, we will tell you at the point of collection. If you choose not to provide information that is needed to complete a transaction, we will not be able to process that transaction.
Automated decisions
We do not make any decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that would produce legal effects or similarly significant consequences for you.
Supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the supervisory authority for data protection in the United Kingdom. The ICO can be contacted at ico.org.uk.
Where we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies on this site. Essential cookies keep the shop, cart and checkout working. Non-essential cookies are used for Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement and are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner (powered by Pandectes) shown on your first visit. You can reopen the banner at any time to change your choices. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or by emailing info@loganandgreys.com.
UK privacy rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Access: to request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification: to ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Erasure: to ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances
- Restriction: to ask us to limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved
- Portability: to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
- Objection: to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@loganandgreys.com. We will respond within one calendar month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
